How To Use T-Shirt Plus' Online Designer

So, you’ve got a ripper idea for a t-shirt? Let’s make it happen — here’s how to bring your custom design to life using our easy Online Designer.

Step 1: Choose Your Product

Start by picking your blank canvas from our create page. Whether you're after t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, aprons, caps, or mugs — we’ve got a wide range ready for your design.

Just find the item you want and click to move on to the next step.

Step 2: Place Your Artwork or Design

Our online design tool makes it easy to design your t-shirts and print them. You can:

  • Add personalised text
  • Upload your own design or logo
  • Choose from our ready-made artwork
  • Add team names and numbers

You’ll also be able to select your garment’s colour, sizes, and quantities on the left-hand side of the screen.

Adding Text

Click "Add Text" from the toolbar and type in your message. You can then adjust:

  • Text colour, outlines, and effects (like glow or gradient)
  • Positioning on the garment
  • Font style and size

Uploading Images or Designs

Click "Add Design" to upload your own image or select one from our stock library. When uploading your own file:

  • Wait for the upload to finish
  • Accept the copyright agreement
  • Then place it on your product

The Image Quality Meter will let you know if your file is print-ready:
🟢 Green = Good to go
🔴 Red = May print poorly – try uploading a higher quality image

Adding Team Names & Numbers

Click "Add Team Name" to input names and numbers for each shirt size. You’ll be able to:

  • Enter details individually
  • Preview and edit each design
  • Switch between garments and customise each one as needed

To make changes later, click "Edit Teamnames" in the product window.

Using the Designer Features

You can move, resize, or adjust any element (images, text, or names) with a simple drag-and-drop. You can also:

  • View a live quote in the top-right corner, with unit prices and GST included
  • Switch between print locations: front, back, sleeves, etc.

Tips for Best Results

Here’s how to get the best out of your design:

 

Image Quality & File Format

Bigger files mean better print results.

  • Recommended format: .PNG with a transparent background
  • Colour mode: RGB
  • Resolution: 300 DPI

 

Planning a Bulk Order?

Ordering 20+ of the same design? You may qualify for a bulk discount.

For screen printing, we’ll need:

  • Artwork with up to 6 solid colours
  • No gradients or shadows
  • Vector EPS format with outlined fonts

Step 3: Place Your Order

Happy with your design? Time to check out!

  1. Register or log in (top right of the page)
  2. Click the Update Panel to review your cart
  3. Head to Checkout to apply any gift cards or promo codes
  4. Fill out your billing & shipping details
  5. Choose your delivery method (including express options)
  6. Make your payment and confirm your order

 

Done! We’ll take it from here and get your gear on its way.
